Description
Double Bell Kalashnikov AKS-74N – 006A
The Double Bell Kalashnikov AK-74N 006A Gel Blaster combines traditional AK styling with substantial metal construction, genuine wood furniture and Double Bell’s proven V3 AEG platform. Designed for enthusiasts who prefer the classic appearance of an early AK-74-pattern rifle, the 006A delivers a particularly convincing combination of weight, materials and external detailing.
Unlike many lightweight AK-style gel blasters, Double Bell builds the 006A around a predominantly metal external structure. Metal components give the platform a solid feel, while the real wood furniture provides the traditional appearance associated with early AK-74 variants. Double Bell’s manufacturer specification for the 006A lists a metal-and-wood construction, while other current listings specifically identify steel receiver components and genuine wood furniture.
Internally, the Australian gel-blaster version uses a V3 metal gearbox with metal gears. Furthermore, the platform uses an 18:1 gear ratio, a stainless-steel gel barrel and a Mini Tamiya electrical connector. This familiar V3 layout gives owners an established AK-style AEG platform rather than an unusual proprietary drivetrain. Australian specifications list a 7.5 mm inner-barrel diameter and is ideally suited to hydrated gel balls, grown to between 7.4 and 7.5 mm.
The 006A also supports semi-automatic and full-automatic operation, together with a dedicated safety position. Therefore, players can switch between controlled single shots and automatic fire according to field rules and the situation. Australian retailers advertise performance of up to approximately 300 FPS, although actual results can vary with gel preparation, spring specification, seals, battery condition and individual production batches.
Another defining feature is the left-side AK optics mounting interface. Historically, the “N” suffix identified AK-74 variants designed to accept side-mounted night optics. Consequently, the side rail also gives the Double Bell replica an important visual detail that distinguishes the AK-74N pattern from a basic AK-74. Compatible AK side-mount adaptors can provide a mounting platform for suitable optics and accessories.
The full-length format, traditional muzzle assembly, classic sights and wood furniture create a distinctly Cold War-era AK appearance. In addition, the roughly three-kilogram platform weight gives the 006A substantially more presence than many nylon-bodied alternatives. Double Bell lists the underlying 006A platform at approximately 946 mm long and 3013 g, although minor differences can occur between gel-blaster production batches and regional versions.
Overall, the Double Bell 006A AK-74N Gel Blaster suits players and collectors looking for a traditional AK platform rather than a heavily modernised tactical build. Its real wood, extensive metal construction and proven V3 gearbox combine classic styling with a practical electric gel-blaster drivetrain.

Queensland Compliance Note
In Queensland, gel blasters do not require a weapons licence to possess. However, Queensland Police states that purchasers must be 18 years or older, new customers will be required to provide proof of age. Gel blasters must be stored securely in a locked container when not in use, and they should remain concealed from public view when transported. Laws differ elsewhere in Australia, and some jurisdictions prohibit or restrict possession. Customers should confirm the laws applying at their destination before purchasing.

Please note this product is a Toy.
Please note: This product contains timber (wood) as part of it’s design. Timber, being a natural product, does not always provide a 100% smooth and consistent finish and may have irregularities due to grain direction, knot imperfections and general “softness” of timber, which makes it prone to marking easily. Also, in our harsh Australian climate, products containing timber should be stored out of direct sunlight, away from extremes in temperature fluctuations and protected from excessive exposure to humidity.
Care should be taken to keep timber in it’s best condition, timber needs to be maintained and “fed” using suitable timber oils, without any colourant of pigment, we suggest using Abbey Gun Solutions – Stock Finish. Click image below to add to your order.
