Fun factoid: this Glock 17 Gen 5 is a replica of the original Gen 5 model that was made specifical for the FBI under the part number G17M, then released to the public as the Glock 17 Gen5, and thus, does not have any front slide serrations/grooves that later models have. About a year after it’s first release, Glock redesigned the slide to have front serrations/grooves, which the “Glock Fanclub” laughingly call the Glock 17 Gen5.1. Before purchasing a Gas blowback pistol please be advised that a certain amount of maintenance is required.

Special note: These pistols also have an external safety mechanism, unlike the real steel Glocks. On the underside of the frame lower, there is a thin oblong silver slide. Once the pistols has had the Top Slide racked and is “loaded”, this silver switch can be slid towards the trigger guard, preventing the trigger from being pulled. To take the Glock off “Safe”, simply slide this silver switch back towards the muzzle, and the trigger is released.
