Manual pistols may not always feed gels consistently from the magazine into the barrel. You might experience issues such as double feeds (two gels at once), empty feeds (no gels), and normal feeds (one gel). These problems are quite common with manual pistols and are not defects; they are simply part of owning, manual spring fed Gel Blasters.

Always read the instructions on the gel packaging, and soak the gels in clean, cold water for the specified time. Do not attempt to use the tiny Gels from the packet, that have not been soaked or have not grown to their operational diameter.
