Are you in search of a high-performance CNC split gearbox designed exclusively for gel soft replicas like AR15 (M4), M16, and other models with a V2 gearbox? Your quest ends here! Introducing the Retro Arms CNC Split Gearbox V2 – a revolutionary upgrade for the world of gel soft enthusiasts.
Crafted from a solid block of aircraft Aluminum (Dural) EN AW 7075 T651, the Retro Arms Split gearbox boasts exceptional strength with a rating of 590MPa – significantly higher than common construction steel (390MPa). This choice of material ensures unparalleled durability and resilience, surpassing traditional zinc-Aluminum gearboxes in every aspect.
The Retro Arms factory employs cutting-edge CNC milling machines to manufacture these gearboxes with utmost precision. The result is a gearbox that sets new standards in the gel soft industry.
One of the key advantages of our split gearbox design is its two-part structure, consisting of the Upper and Lower sections. This ingenious design simplifies the installation of inner parts, allowing you to set up your cylinder set with ease. You no longer need to remove the entire gearbox from your receiver during setups. Simply dismount the upper part, conveniently held by one receiver pin. The versatility of our CNC Split Gearbox V2 allows seamless installation even in gel soft replicas with non-straight receivers like AR15 (M4), paired with any AR15 (M4) Hop-Up chamber of your choice.
For optimal performance, we recommend a nozzle length of 21.4mm. However, keep in mind that various factors such as the angle of the tapped plate or the length of the front part of the Hop-Up bucking can influence the required nozzle length. In such cases, you may need a different nozzle length to achieve the best results.
Each package includes the CNC Split Gearbox V2 (8mm) – QSC, available in your preferred colour, along with a set of screws and a QSC spring guide.
We’ve made significant improvements to our CNC Split Gearboxes V2 to enhance your gel soft experience. Spring holders now feature grooves, preventing springs from jumping off the tapped plate and trigger switch. Additionally, we’ve added grooves for the safety lever and trigger spring to ensure a better fit.
The gearbox now includes an AOE control hole, along with sockets for bushings/bearings with a reduced diameter of -0.02mm (7.98mm) to prevent overturning during installation. To ease wiring, we’ve enhanced the grooves to accommodate 1mm wirings with a 2.5mm diameter. Moreover, we’ve added a protective edge for wiring against the motor.
The gearbox threads are shaped instead of cut, significantly increasing their strength. The gearbox parts are accurately centred by milled grooves and edges, ensuring optimal performance. For added durability, Retro Arms has reinforced the cylinder head part of the gearbox with 100% more material and added a groove for the anti-reversal latch spring to keep it securely in place.
The outer edges have been precisely cut off, and the gearbox type (8mm or 9mm) is indicated on the outside.
One standout feature of the Retro Arms gearbox is the Quick Spring Change System (QSC). This ingenious system allows you to replace the spring without opening the gearbox. Please note that you must secure the spring guide with a screw, either using the stock screw or the QSC screw, depending on your stock configuration.
To ensure compatibility, the trigger switch space is designed to fit trigger switches and units from common manufacturers like Gate.
Our CNC gearbox V2 is protected with anodizing to safeguard against corrosion, even with the challenging Aluminum EN AW 7075 T651 material. Avoiding anodizing could lead to the formation of unsightly grey spots that resemble corrosion.
It’s important to note that our CNC gearbox can only be installed in gel soft replicas with a Tokyo Marui compatible standard, including the inner parts. During installation, use only 1Nm tightening moment on screws to prevent them from overturning in the heads. Excessive force is unnecessary, but if you want to ensure a perfect fit, consider using thread glue or thread colour.
Please refrain from using a MAXX cylinder head with Retro Arms gearboxes, as it may lead to compatibility issues.
Lastly, we must emphasize that installing inner parts and gearboxes requires professional knowledge, experience, and skills. With various gel soft manufacturers in the market, each with their own sizing standards, compatibility issues can arise with parts from different manufacturers. To ensure the best fit, we recommend having the gearbox professionally built and installed by our Tech Team.
Upgrade your gel soft replica with our top-of-the-line CNC Split Gearbox V2, and experience the ultimate performance and durability.
